NPC 85

Alfred Namwocket (Gnome Alchemist Pathfinder CR 14)

Alfred Namwocket has a small potions shop in the back streets of the city “Namwocket’s Potions and Elixirs”. He has thick  curly unkempt black hair that stands 6 inches up on his head, raising his height of  4ft 6in to a respectable 5ft.  In his shop he always wears a crumpled black suit, creased shirt and  a red bow tie.

Recently Alfred has been branching out into the protection racket business, he has sent a number of letters to large city shops:

“To protect your premises from unwanted slimes please deposit 100gp at the ‘Goldash’  gnome bank deposit box 1031 with your name and address. This will enable our anti slime patrols to include you in their patrol area.”

He will send this letter to all large shops in a street, and within 2 weeks  green slime bombs will be planted in a couple of the  shops cellars. This will usually find a large  number of deposits appearing in his Goldash account. The Goldash bank will never give out account details.

When planting bombs Alfred will normally use vermin shape to enter the premises,  and polymorph to leave them, he will have acute senses active giving him +20 to perception checks.

Alfred keeps his bottled supply of Green  slime in the cellar of his shop, every month or so he will allow one of them to grow so he can resupply.

Confusion Bomb (Su): A direct hit causes the effect of a confusion spell for 1 round per caster level of the alchemist. Reduce the amount of normal damage dealt by the bomb by 2d6.
Explosive Bomb: The alchemists bombs now have a splash radius of 10 feet rather than 5 feet. A direct hit from an explosive bomb catches fire, taking 1d6 points of fire damage per round until fire is extinguished. Extinguishing takes a full-round action that requires a Reflex save.Rolling on the ground provides the target with a +2 to the save.
Fast Bombs: Can prepare and throw additional bombs as a full-round action if his base attack bonus is high enough to grant him additional attacks. This functions just like a full-attack with a ranged weapon.
Strafe Bomb (Su): Splash in a 40-foot line rather than affecting a radius. The line starts at the alchemist and extends away from him in the direction he chooses.
