NPC 53
“The Black Princess” (Pirate Ship Pathfinder CR 9)
The Black Princess is a Brig, a two masted sailing ship. She has a crew of 50 kobolds
The Crew
The Capitan Dead Dead Eye Klod (Kobold, Fighter/Pirate Pathfinder CR 7)
The First Mate and Doctor Kottak “The Black Princess” (Kobold Adept/Pirate Pathfinder CR 6 )
The Lookout Monkit “Rig Monkey” “The Black Princess” (Kobold Rogue/Pirate Pathfinder CR 7 )
The Marine Sergeant Sergeant Ratrok “Sgt Axe” “The Black Princess” (Kobold Fighter/Pirate Pathfinder CR 7)
16 Marines Marines *16 “The Black Princess” (Kobold Warrior Pathfinder CR 6 )
and 30 kobold crew members detailed at the bottom of this page.
The crew all come from the Shark tooth Kobold tribe on the Island of Tagos. 5 years ago they appropriated” The Black Princess” and have since made a living Pirating on the high seas.
Cpt Klod always makes his Pirate attacks at night, to give the advantage to his Kobold crew. If there is not much wind, and a bright moon, Kottak may cast a fog cloud spell inbetween the two ships to obscure the Black Princess until she can close the distance.
When Cpt Klod decides that striking distance has been reached he will order the attack, Kottak will cast his lightning bolt at the other ships mast and the Marines will prepare to board. All missile fire will be aimed at enemy spell casters to keep their heads down.
Once a ship is taken, it will be looted, and then set alight. Any enemy crew will either be killed on the spot, or taken on board the Black Princess for “special” treatment. The “special” guests will not live more than a few days.
Plot Hooks:
1 There are rumors of a ghost ship patrolling the seas and the local sailors are getting scared some refusing to go to sea again. Some one needs to investigate. Preferably bringing this ghost ship in to port to calm the growing panic.
2. The ship “The Dancing Dolphin” is overdue she should have docked last night. On board is Lord Randalfs daughter he will pay 5000gp to get his daughter back alive. He is worried that a number of shops have been lost recently.
Note is important that the plot hooks will want the pirate ship unharmed, as a couple of fireballs cast at her before the “Black Princess” makes contact with an enemy ship, will destroy most of her crew.
The Crew 30 Pirates (Kobold expert pirates, pathfinder CR 6)
The Crew are all expert sailors but not fighters. They are a tough bunch having lived much of the last 5 years at sea.
